Haruki Murakami's novel After Dark is filled with the author's signature spooky, atmospherically descriptive prose. He gently guides the reader's imagination through scenes in such a cinematic way that one could see the story playing out as though projected on a scrim inside the mind.
After reading the book, I felt inspired and compelled to comb back through and do some character exploration illustrations. This work is ongoing, and here you'll find a few passages from the book and some of the drawings I've been working on.
